    Holster for 1911.

Can anyone recommend a good concealed-carry holster for a 1911? I've been carrying my Sig P238 for the summer but now that it's getting colder I want to carry my R1. I know this isn't going to be an easy task. I also have to take into consideration that women's clothing is not forgiving to concealment, especially a full-size 1911. I don't mind buying bigger clothes but I'm just looking for a holster that would conceal the best and provide comfort at the same time. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Keep it simple. I'd recommend a simple open top belt holster from Galco. I carried a 1911 with one for 20 years, before I changed guns.

JMCustoms is my pick. I've had good luck with them.
It's Kydex if you're ok with that.

TT Gunleather IWB/OWB convertable re-enforced pancake holster.

You can remove the loops and use it for OWB or use it for deep concealment as an IWB holster.

Sounds like you are wanting to purchased a belt holster for a woman. Depending on hips you might want to consider an AIWB holster.

When I carry my government model I usually do it with a simple IWB from Bladetech that I've had for years. I have a OWB that I would recommend but the maker isn't in business anymore as far as I can tell. Check out Safariland, I've been looking at them for a locking retention holster for the more vigorous gun games.

For IWB I really like the Crossbreed Supertuck, and 98% of the time it's what I'm carrying my Commander length 1911 in. For OWB days, I have a Bianchi 19L that I really like.

I added a pair of J hooks when I ordered my Supertuck, but the standard SnapLock belt clips work just fine so I never installed the J hooks on mine. My Supertuck works with all 1911 barrel lengths.

A Crossbreed Supertuck would be my suggestion for a IWB.
An outside waistband holster would be more comfortable.

I also use JM Custom Kydex. I carry my 1911 appendix and their holsters are perfect for the job
