I’m guessing that using one of these split fixes doesn’t count as modifying the brace as it doesn’t alter the original usage.

I was hesitant as well when I first picked one up. However the brace is functionally unaltered. When the strap is loosened the rubber wings can wrap around the forearm just like the original.

It’s essentially just a sturdier strap, but doesn’t change the functionality of the brace. It just makes it more rigid when the strap isn’t in use.

I got a chance to get a closer look at the Tailhook Mod 2 mounted to an AR pistol. I still don't like that it uses a proprietary RE, but am reconsidering that fact making the brace a complete no go for me. $200 is still more than I want to spend.

Optics Planet has them for $105 and free shipping. Great brace. It is amazing how far we have come since the SB15 brace.

I used a strip of one wrap velcro to run through the slots. Much tighter fit with no buckle and the velcro is lower profile. Will still work as dasigned if anyone checks.

Good sale on SBA3 (95.00). Spend 4.00 more and get free shipping. Ordered 2 more yesterday. I have purchased here before with no issues. https://dsgarms.com/sbt-sba3-01-sb

Primary Arms - 89.99. One per. Heck of a deal. Likely sell out quick. https://www.primaryarms.com/sb-tacti...rm-brace-black

As far as brace prices go, all arm braces are a bit on the expensive side- except the Shockwave Blade, but I find it too uncomfortable for my use.
