Just curious what the range is.
Just curious what the range is.
I've recently gone to Alloy frame guns in 9mm (horrors).
I have 5" and Commander length Dan Wesson "Vigils". They are (reasonably) inexpensive, entry level guns that check all my boxes with zero frills; Tritium FS (both guns shoot POA/POI with 124 gr.+P HST), NO MIM, 25 LPI FS and are pretty well put together.
The barrels are ramped, so no concerns with HP ammo chewing up the frame feed ramp.
The Commander weighs 30 oz. sans ammo, 5" weighs 32 oz. san ammo. That is about half a pound lighter than my steel frame guns.
Both shoot to my abilities and then some. I was impressed enough with the 5" that I picked up a Commander length gun.
Commander at 25 yds. (benched for dial in)-
5" (as above)-
Those are nice! Great accuracy!
I was pleasantly surprised with accuracy for a gun(s) in this price range.
42 or 43 ounces without ammo depending on if it is the MC operator or the TRP. I usually carry an 8 round mag in the gun and a 10 rounder for a reload.
-KevinBLack of Lubrication -- a lot of folks who learned on bolt guns don't understand that gas guns like women run better wet.
8 round mag w/one in chamber : 44.8 oz
10 round McCormick reload : 10.5 oz
DeSantis leather holster : 4 oz
Single mag carrier : 1.5 oz
Guncrafter Commander 38 Super
Ten rounds
5 Shot Gunleather LFA
Weight as carried, 47.5 ounces on the belt
Proper Planing Prevents Piss Poor Performance.......
42 oz empty, plus 8 round wilson mag, leather holster, leather mag holder with another 8 round wilson mag.
