What qualifies as an AFGF for a pistol?

So we all know that the ATF in it's great and infinite wisdom has stated that an AFG is fine on a pistol but a VGF is not.

Do we know what the dividing like between the two is? for instance BCM makes a foregrip that is angled. But is it angled enough?

    Does the ATF even know?

To date, I believe there's no federal descriptive definition of a VFG / AFG, etc. But there are "letters" which can be interpreted as a VFG is perpendicular (90*) to the bore of the firearm.
