    10.5 suppressed tuning

I’m running into expected issues tuning a 10.5 556 for suppressed and unsuppressed reliability

    Here’s what I found

All setups using geissele super 42 buffer and spring and dead air sandman S

Barrel is a 10.5 Rosco carbine gas

Fail zero in my experience always cycled faster but has erratic ejection

    Fail zero H1 buffer

Unsuppressed slightly overgassed 1 o’clock ejection

Suppressed brass is smacking the deflector hard and going 12-1 o’clock

    Failzero H2 buffer

Unsuppressed slightly overgassed with 2oclock ejection

Suppressed is still too overgassed smacking deflector

    H2 with BCM BCG

unsuppressed 330-4 o’clock ejection, no malfunctions but doesn’t always lock back last round

Suppressed is 3 o’clock ejection and pretty much perfect

I’m going to try an H1 on the BCM but I believe it will be a bit overdone with the can

Suggestions? I don’t want adjustable gas blocks

I haven’t used them but a lot of guys will run the VLTOR A5system and tune them in. Looks like the Fail Zero H1 and H2 are working for you, the A5 might clean up what you dislike about them.

That H2 config is about the best you'll get without changing anything when swapping off the suppressor.

Yep, and that is what it was designed to use.

Now for the A5. The A5H3 or possibly H4 will work and it will be much different than the standard set up.

The failzero is my least favored bcg I own, ejection is all over the place

    BCM bcg with H1

Suppressed. 230 ejection and didn’t have any issues

Unsuppressed was interesting. The extractor continually did not extract the round causing a double feed and did not always lock back on the last round

Inspection showed the extractor was a bit rounded so I called it a day and will test a Colt bcg tomorrow

The failzero has been the most reliable but the smacking the deflector and 8’ out to 1230 ruins it for me. Is there anyway to adjust that?

The best upgrade you can do, as has been suggested. A5 buffer , A5 buffer or you could add a A5 buffer. Colt Bcg should provide no different experience as BCM.

The A5 has come up multiple times and I’ve done some research, I don’t see how it’s an upgrade to invest in all new buffers to experiment with

Could someone explain the benefit I’m missing?

You didn't research much, because there are numerous threads that are several pages long describing it.
