They only have 2 barrels in 10.5 that are 556. A pencil profile and govt profile. What profile is your barrel? Pencil is skinny for the entire length of the barrel and has.625 and the govt has pencil profile to the gas block then is thicker on the end and is .750. That would be the easiest way to tell without removing anything

I don't understand why you don't just take off the handguard and measure it. You are going to have to take it off anyway. What's the big deal??

cause I don't have calipers. I bought a 750 block today that I'm pretty sure will work

Do yall think it would have what barrel profile or gas block size stamped somewhere else away from these marking? I don't want to have to remove my rail but as it's perfect on there. there's either .625 or .750 by this manufacturer

    The only Faxon 10.5" stainless (416R) / (5.56) I find is a carbine - length w/ a .750" gas block diameter. (.080" gas port).

Put an adjustable wrench around your gas tube, leaving a bit of a gap. Hold the gas tube, and let the gas block hang low a couple of inches off the carpet. Whack the gas block down with the wrench, still holding the gas tube. You're not beating on it, just let gravity do most of the work. A couple hits and it should be free, assuming the roll pin was removed.

Not being a smart-butt; did you remove the roll pin?
