    Knife Testing vids

I like this guys vids because instead of talking about a knife (maker, style, steel used, etc) just beats on them doing what typical bush/survival uses of such knives. Typical German

Here he tests a knife I have (which is a safe queen...), and other than being a poor chopper, it performs quite well considering its size:

This vid he compares a Strider to a knock off and the the tip of the knock off snaps right off at 7 mins, showing they may look the same, but when used hard, not the same:

Using a Gerber LHR (which they stopped making but people seemed to say great things about for the $) and I may grab one as the museum has one:

What hard use knife vids do you recommend?

This is a vid of my edc folder. A ZT0550 (now discontinued). This guy is Russian, not German. Same brutality though. LOL.

Good stuff. He really beats he hell out of that Zero Tolerance 550 without a scratch. No wonder they cost so much. What's with these German's and Russians willing to beat on knives where as most US types just stand there and talk abut the knife?

I like his other vid as I have a a CQC7 and it the locking mechanism failed under conditions i would not have expected, but it's not a terribly robust locking mechanism designed for hard use like that ZT. Interestingly, the CQC& sits in a drawer as a back up folder as I wanted something more robust.

If you enjoy good knife reviews, I recommend the YT channel called “Dutch Bushcraft Knives”.

In all fairness to your CQC7, spine whacking is not recommended no matter what kind of lock your folder has. It is just a brutal and unnecessary thing to do to a folder, but it does show what locking mechanisms are more robust than others.

If you are looking to save money on a ZT or Kershaw. This guy will sell blems which do not have the factory warranty. With ZT's warranty, if you snap the blade due to abuse, ZT will replace it for$30. They will not do it for the blems. The blems will have XXXX where the serial number usually would be. Mine is a blem. No problems. He will have them in occasionally. If you want one and there isn't one in stock, email him that your interested and he usually will put you on a reserve list and email you when he gets them in.
