First time rookie build in the works. Where to start?

    Hey guys,

Besides the BCM middy that I bought from Grant, I only have hand guns. I want to try to build my first AR from start to finish. One of my reservations would be experience. Im not fully familiar with the inner workings of the rifle. Any suggestions. Happy Freedom Friday! Thanks in advance.

Check this video out, it's pretty good. There are some basic tools you will need. A fixture to hold the upper and lower securely, the Magpul one is good, and a vice. A roll pin punch set, a small ball peen hammer or something similar, a torque wrench for the barrel nut if you are building an upper from the ground up, a pin spanner for the buffer tube castle nut and a center punch to stake it in place. Also anti-seize grease or Aeroshell grease for the barrel nut, buffer tube nut threads, and muzzle device threads, and blue loctite for things like rail bolts and iron sight bolts. Hope this helps. https://youtu.be/p8sY5CQmlHI

    To all concerned.

The custom build area is a place to show off/discuss and ask questions and get feedback about your completed custom build (this means a completed AR that is functional and already completed). If you are going to post pictures of your build, please post a complete picture not just your parts, partial lowers, etc....

Also, buying an upper separate and then a lower and throwing them together does not constitute a custom build. It would be nice if you took time to explain how you came to your decision and explain your set up. Thanks.

If you do not follow the guidelines and your post disappears it's probably because it was moved to the trash or deleted.
I know I have missed the fact that posts like this find their way into the Custom Builds forums when I use new post.

Or, you were sarcastic? I dunno. Haha. Nonetheless, it was mild jest while directing them to Custom Build Forums rules. I want to lean as you were being sarcastic, but I know I have missed the Forum Location before.

I was being very sarcastic, 4 out of 5 (soon to be 5 of out 6) threads locked are for posting stuff that doesn't belong in the Custom Build Forum and quite a few are from people who have been around awhile.
