Steyr AUG Commando - something unique in a world of mass production

    FYI
Steyr USA may be producing exactly 150 STG77 Commando factory SBR's. SM in Austria will not sell the 14" (13.8) barrels in the USA and they're also sort of against the idea of a complete gun with the same barrel length. If you're interested (interest being what will push these forward) let Pete Athens and Steyr USA know. There's a thread on bullpupforum and arf also.

No because a standard AUG is already shorter than a 11.5" barreled AR, not sure why it makes sense to chop a two more inches with a bunch of paperwork. If they were to do them right, they'd just offer the barrels so people can register their existing AUG's into SBR's.

I have to agree, 16" barrel is pretty compact and about as close as I want to bring my muzzle flash to the VFG. Two more inches really doesn't get me anything but a NFA tax.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

    Chuck, we miss ya man.

I already have probably the most compact 5.56NATO rifle on the market anywhere, an Arsenal 106UR SBR.

While very inappropriate, I couldn't help but laugh.
