Colts are not CHF; they are button rifled barrels. Weight difference is something like 4 ounces more than a 14.5" Gov profile M4 barrel.

Grant sells as advertised with fast turnaround—mine works great!

The 14.5" SOCOM barrel weighs less than 2 oz more than a Colt 16" M4 barrel and has better balance.

I thought PAC-NOR finished Noveske’s barrels. But that may be just the SS barrels

Like the sound of one hand clapping: If it's 16"...can one call it an "M4"?

It's 2018...ain't nobody seeking out the a 16" carbine barrel on purpose on a 223/5.56.

PAC-NOR does their stainless and FN does their N4 barrels (CMV).

More along the lines that Noveske does the work on their own Stainless Steel, with their own tooling to their specifications using Pac-Nor machines. There is a difference which is why Pac-Nor does not market barrels for AR-15s.

I guess I'll add to the confusion. In total I've had 6 Noveske Afghan barrels. I sold 1, shoot 3 and have 2 in reserve. All of mine were manufactured in 2009 when John was running the show. They have Mod0 chambers and the gas block mount is the normal style allowing any gasblock to be used.
First, yes, they're heavy but they seem to balance out well for me with how I fit most of those builds out, but still heavy. Of the three I shoot none are in any way overgassed. I've only actually shot one for accuracy and I'm excited. Using BH Mk262 @100yards I got .768" and with a load of 23.9gr of Accurate 2520 under a 77gr SMK in LC brass and a CCI 41 primer, a load that gave me .384 @100 yards in my Mk12, gave me .408" through that Afghan barrel.
So, with factory BH or hand loads it gives sub moa groups, and that's all with me behind the trigger so...
I want to try one of the Colt SOCOM barrels though. Im 14.5" poor though and definitely dont need another one. Who is it that has them on sale right now?

The centurion RECCE and Mk12 barrels I have shot have been the most accurate stainless AR barrels I have personally shot. The Noveskes we're a close second. Shot all of them at 700 and either brand got the job done. I like Centurion products and Monty and Corrie, so personally I would pick up a RECCE barrel from them.
