    Pinned A2 base gas block

Please excuse my ignorance in this.

Does no one offer an standard front sight base without the front sight?

From my perspective, I would gladly pay for this. Otherwise, my options seem to be to take to an armorer/mail to ADCO to shave down my existing front sight base or put on a low profile gas block with a set screw (not that this is a problem). I would happily choose to re-use my pin holes for an option that does not involve any more modifications to the barrel.

Pin holes are drilled after assembly, which effectively makes them "custom" for each individual barrel and generally NOT interchangeable with other FSBs or gas blocks.

You could dremel your own fab off and paint it.

20 minutes with proper tools and you can chop/profile it yourself. Black high temp paint works great for refinishing.
More secure shaved and double taper pinned than any other setup.
