I clicked on the Optimum barrel thread link in Clint's post and BufordTJustice mentioned that the fired brass validated everything Clint says about the EXT length gas system.
I looked at the brass from the Hornady Frontier 55gr fired today and sure enough, no (or very light) ejector or extraction marks on the brass.
It was around 90 degrees today, and I was shooting drills until the rail got too hot to hold and I realized I forgot gloves. As always, the gun was reliable and stacked the brass up between 3 and 4 o'clock.
I am running a Sionics BCG which come with a Sprinco ejector spring and a carbine RE with an H2 buffer and a standard BCM action spring.
I am very pleased with my Optimum (aka light) barrel.
