I clicked on the Optimum barrel thread link in Clint's post and BufordTJustice mentioned that the fired brass validated everything Clint says about the EXT length gas system.
I looked at the brass from the Hornady Frontier 55gr fired today and sure enough, no (or very light) ejector or extraction marks on the brass.
It was around 90 degrees today, and I was shooting drills until the rail got too hot to hold and I realized I forgot gloves. As always, the gun was reliable and stacked the brass up between 3 and 4 o'clock.
I am running a Sionics BCG which come with a Sprinco ejector spring and a carbine RE with an H2 buffer and a standard BCM action spring.
I am very pleased with my Optimum (aka light) barrel.

Looking forward to ordering one of your BRT 11.5" OPTIMUM CQB-S, tapered shoulder barrels when they become available.

Someone PM’d me about accuracy with the 16” Light, so I shot some groups today. I fired off a bench with a bipod, neither of which I do often, so try to forgive my poor shooting. I fired a total of 160rnds, still no stoppages.

    Range: 100yds
Sample size: 10 rnd groups each
    Temp: 94F
    Humidity: 60%
    Wind: gusty, not measured
    Magnification: 7x
    Shooter: sucks

    Results:
    Barnes 70gr TSX 5.56: 2.4”
    Gold Dot 55gr 223: 2.7”
    Aguila 62gr ball 5.56: 2.25”
    Fusion MSR 62gr 223: 2.5”
    M855: 4.8” (ouch)
    Precision One 55gr ball 223: 2.6”

I’m sure a better shooter with more magnification can do a bit better, but do note that these were 10rnd groups. I am satisfied with the performance of this barrel. Hypothetically, it should be capable of consistent 1st round hits on 18” steel at 600yds. I’ll let y’all know if/when I get around to trying that out.

One thing I wanted to find out was if the 1/8 barrel would reliably stabilize the very long Barnes 70 grainers. It did.

I shot the next 100 rnds blasting with a CompM4, and did not measure.

    Edit: 5/27 +150, 1 light strike Aguila 62 556. Total ~700
    D- E bolt
    + oil
    + 310
    Total ~1010
    +oil
    6/04 +180 Wolf Gold 55, AE 62 .223
    Total ~1190
    6/10 +500 Aguila 55gr .223 *
    Cleaned, lubed
    6/12 +250 Aguila 55gr .223*
    Total ~1940

I went out and ran my 14" suppressed build. I should have taken pictures, because this barrel keeps surprising me with its accuracy. At the advice of another BRT barrel burner (two of them, actually) I tried a Tubbs flat wire spring and am an instant fan. Less dot movement, more "linear" recoil impulse, smoother feel overall. I took two lowers with me that are identical minus spring selection, and ran both lower/upper combos through barricade position, standing drills, and prone.

1168- I'll try to get some groups up early next month with my Light barrel to supplement your data.

I settled on a Sprinco Blue, myself. But you owe it to yourself to try these barrels with an A1 stock/ rifle spring/buffer lower. Dot barely moves. In fact, I would encourage everybody to try one out with whatever upper they have. Its like having a sleeper game gun. Only downside is length with unorthodox positions, which is why I always end up back with a carbine lower.

I’ll chuck a Tubbs in it next time for S&G.

The Rifle buffer is very similar to the A5H2 buffer that we baseline the porting with.

Makes sense. I’ll throw a H3 in there and give that a whirl.

My 14” build is ridiculously accurate!
I had a little issue with ejection but a new Col extractor spring quickly fixed the problems!
I helped teach a rifle class on Saturday and we confirmed zero at 50 yards and all five rounds were in the X all touching. I probably fired all 5 rounds in about 3 seconds.
I just ordered an 11.5 suppressor barrel to make a little brother!

Glad you like the 14" Cory.

For anyone who missed those, the new 14.5" MPCs are shipping now.

They should be another really popular option and are optimized for both suppressed and un-suppressed use.

Yesterday, I took a look at the crown on my 16” Light, and found it to be so caked with carbon, that I could not see any part of the crown itself. It fills the gap between the shoulder of the flash hider and the crown, completely, and has kind of a hollow cone appearance. So my accuracy (precision) results posted above may not be valid. I’ll leave them up, but I’ll try again another day with a clean barrel. Might be a bit of time; I don’t shoot groups often.

Also, shot another 220* rounds M193 clones(Federal, PPU) today, so I’m at ~2160 rounds into trying this thing out. (I’m using this thread as a log)
    H1
    +261 Aguila 223 55gr, F XM193, Aguila 556 62gr.
    ~2420
    Sprinco white hot
    +160 6/28 AE 55 556, Aguila 223 55
    ~2580
    +181 7/02 AE 55 556, M855
    ~2760
    +60 7/15 mixed ammo
    ~2820

7/09 I pulled the flash hider and found that at least some of the carbon cake was an optical illusion. The crown of the barrel wasn’t too bad. However, the inside of the FH was so wrecked that I had to use a punch, and a thread chaser to call it clean enough to re-install.
