Dealing with a spinning cap won't be be much of a thing. Installing the handguards to hold the cap from spinning while applying the final torque to the muzzle device should do it.

We like using an extra gas block...
I prefer to eliminate unnecessary weight. That's why I usually thread the suppressor directly to the barrel

    How important is subsonic operation?
For the present, not at all.

There may be a use case for supersonic only, suppressed or unsuppressed.
I haven't had a chance to shoot the 300 much. I chose it be cause it should perform better from barrels shorter 10 inches than the 5.56. For the moment, I can't envision a practical use for the subsonic 300 and with the differences in POA/POI and gas drive, setting up an AR to shoot both seems more complicated than its worth. The Wilson HAMR or the 7.62x39 are likely more practical choices for my purposes, but the entrance fee for the 300 BLK was cheaper.

We are working on lighter weight 11.5 and 12.5 barrels.

Both are planned to have 1/2-28 thread.

If we did an additional version with tapered shoulders and 5/8-24 threads (like the SBT) would that be better on the 11.5 or 12.5?

    Thoughts?

No particular thoughts on the tapered version, but I'll probably an 11.5" version sooner than later.

I am on AR15.com more, but I've become very interested in your products over the past year or so. I've used the BRT custom gas tubes and custom tune gas blocks to great effect on my current dedicated suppressed 12.5 build. I'm always looking for ways to cut weight and retain performance. I'd be interested in trying out your 12.5 if you made a lightweight version.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is the real world performance difference between the normal 1/2x28 vs the 5/8x24 w/ taper? I understand that 5/8x24 w/ taper is less prone to being over torqued and the taper helps with concentricity when using things like the Q Cheery Bombs, but my question is what is the real world measurable difference between those options?

For example: The 5/8x24 w/ taper was tested to be on average ___% more accurate than the 1/2x28? Or the 5/8x24 w/ taper was tested to have ____% less POI shift than the 1/2x28 when switching between suppressed and unsuppressed.

From my perspective, unless there is a distinctly measurable difference of the 5/8x24 w/ taper option, I'd rather save the weight and go with the lighter profile barrel.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

That sounds excellent. I really like the 14" barrel I used to build a suppressed set up. I'd love to do a similar build with this barrel, and I've been hoping for an Optimum LW 11.5. Win-win!

IMHO, there's isn't any right or wrong answer here, why not do *small* runs of both lengths at first. Then see which one sells the best and go with that. I prefer by a hair the 11.5" inch length for suppressor use to keep the OAL of the SBR or braced pistol setup as short as possible. I think the BRT 11.5 inch Optimum SBT dedicated suppressor barrel with it's 5/8"-24 muzzle threads and 25 degree tapered shoulder, EXC gas length and it's *23.5* oz weight is pretty close to perfect for a dedicated suppressed, hard use barrel. FYI, a Hodge Defense stripped 12.5” inch barrel weighs 21.5 oz , and a stripped Colt M4 14.5" inch barrel weighs 25 oz.
