You guys are going to love these barrels!

The porting is setup for Suppressed and Unsuppressed use with a simple buffer swap.

H or CAR works great Unsuppressed use.

Bump up to H2 for Suppressed use.

Excellent! Would running the A5 system allow you to split the difference with the A5H2?

A5 fans can rock the A5H0 unsuppressed and setup up to the A5H2 when suppressed.

Is this how the 12.5" will be gassed as well?

Also, will the A5H2 run unsuppressed? Or will it not cycle at all?

ETA: To clarify my question on the A5H2, if it cycles reliably (unsuppressed) but doesn't lock back on an empty mag, then that's acceptable to me. But if it won't cycle at all, then that would be problematic...especially since now it's tough to pick up different A5 buffer weights.

Curious as well. I have an A5H2 lower waiting for this barrel. It'll wear a Turbo K 75% of the time.

Agree. I too have a A5h2 lower that I’ve been planning to run the 12.5” with. Unsuppressed mostly.

These barrels can certainly run un-suppressed with an A5H2 and mil-spec spring, but will have reduced reliability margin with weaker ammo.

M855 and M193 are fine, as is most good 223.

The PMC bronze and wolf steel cycle pretty slow and won't lock back with a loose hold, but even this is dependent on the muzzle device.

A good brake that eliminates recoil allows positive cycling even with a loose hold.

The popular green rifle spring, which is slightly stronger, takes a little more energy to compress.

Overall, it doesn't cycle quite as fast as we like with the heavier buffers, so as a blanket recommendation we're going with lighter buffers un-suppressed, which also allows some margin for slightly stronger springs.

Suppressed, the A5H2 does great with near zero gas blow back.

11.5 CQB barrel. Did a barrel break in and zeroed it. Very smooth shooting!

Ran it with H buffer and standard spring in the back, FCD 6315 in the front.

I have the 11.5” cqb barrel that I bought for 50/50 suppressed use. With an A5H2 buffer, unsuppressed, it would short stroke about every 3-4 rounds using 556 ammo (M193 and Black Hills RRLP). This was in 90 degree weather. I dropped down to an A5H0 and it runs good unsuppressed. I Have a Sandman S on it now and it runs very good suppressed.
I kinda wish the gas port was slightly larger so I could just run one buffer. The Sandman doesn’t add too much back pressure so I think I would have been fine with a standard port.

While new buffers are currently scarce, buffer weights are readily available. Either steel or tungsten weights can be purchased independently from a complete buffer. Or, you can use weights from a buffer you already have.
