Doesn’t sound like it’s better ammo then. Get actual good ammo and test it to verify function.

The blunt nose of a gold dot gets damaged feeding in my ARX. Polymer tip and pointed lead soft points appear to be okay.

But I don't want a varmint bullet for obvious reasons.

I've only fired about ten rounds of 64 gr jsp's from it but they worked fine and I don't recall much damage to the nose after feeding.

I should probably get some of those for further testing.

You realize the Gold Dot has literally one of smallest exposed lead soft point out of all the viable self defense soft points right?

Single shot. Too smokey. Never seen one with a WML and RDS but I'm sure it's been done.

Prefer percussion because a matchlock...well, that would just be silly. I'd have to keep a lighter under my pillow.

Sounds like an issue with the gun. What made you choose that?

    Don't worry it's close range

Trying hard not to troll this guy too but, agreed. If your gun won't run anything but FMJs, theres something wrong with the gun.

Its not like there arent any options. Any of the TSX or GMX dont have exposed lead at the tip or even OTM rounds are much better options than FMJ.
