    That will be interesting to see what happens after she (resident) recovers. No information if it was a no-knock entry. Family claims it was. Officers claim they told her several times to drop the shotgun, family says no. Hopefully there is some body cam video to reveal the facts.

    Good outcome so far. Sadly, I think positions of authority attract narcissistic personalities in the first place. It's a lot like politics where simply wishing to run for office should probably invalidate most candidates because they are seeking positions of power and wealth and have little or no interest in actual public service.

    We could elect congress by lottery and probably do as well or better.

    Being a LEO is far more complicated because their involvement in the daily lives of most people tends to be far more significant and they have to deal with a broad spectrum of personal contacts from ordinary and mundane problem solving to aggressive and violent confrontations that often begin with little or no warning.
    It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

    A fair number of laws and ordinances need to be repealed to limit the interactions in the first place and a good way to achieve that would be to remove the exemptions and immunities currently enjoyed by several groups.

    It will be kind of surprising(based on the Amber Guyger shooting Botham Jean murder conviction) if the manslaughter conviction doesn't get tossed on appeal since Dean shot the person he was trying to shoot.
