Just select what ammo you are using, then plug in zero distance and 2.5in sight above bore for your AR. There will be some variation in velocity depending on barrel length (program uses ammo manufacture stated velocities), so if you have a chronograph to plug in your specific muzzle velocity it will be more precise, but this will be plenty close enough to tell you what to expect and to determine which zero best fits your shooting needs.
