Mass shooting - Cincinnati (5 shot, 3 dead, 1 critical, perp dead)

Early this morning around 9 am, a gunman targeted the Fifth Third Bank headquarters in Cincinnati, Oh. Reports are that 5 were shot with 3 fatalities and 1 currently in critical condition. The suspect, born in Puerto Rico, was killed in a shootout with police. Information I have gathered suggest that there were cops eating in a restaurant in the vicinity and responded almost immediately. They engaged the suspect by shooting through glass. By all accounts, Cincinnati Police saved many lives today. As for the suspect, he has lived in PR, Florida, south carolina and moved to cincinnati in 2015. He had a criminal record including marijuna related offenses, resisting arrest, and other small things.

I work in downtown Cincinnati and the reaction has been the obvious, "I can't believe it happened here."

Super glad I have a red "guns are not permitted in this building" sign on my building...

Two of the victims worked for a construction contractor. Given the guys history of bouncing from job to job, I think he was laid off and targeted the company, which was working on a project in the building.

Edit: it was the Bank hq. there is a branch of the same bank next door. Also, he apparently entered through the loading dock which would lend credence to the theory I just heard

I spend a lot of time in that area evaluating properties for a client. Scary shit.

I'm thinking foreclosure and a "f it all attitude." Of course it could simply be another case of "crazy and walking around in public."

I have a family member who is an high level executive at that bank. Luckily, she just had surgery.

At least the guy got his dose of lead.
