And then the Customs checkpoint coming east out of town like you've somehow left the USA, at least back in '05 when I was passing through... Funny, I didn't know Texas had become a Constitution-Free Zone.

As stated earlier the education system is failing us and creating "snowflakes" who vote & are clueless.

    Take this for example:

11/30/2018 Riding home listening to WMAL, Larry O’Connor was interviewing a Native American who is a resident of New Mexico. The clerk & supervisor in DC marriage licensing division didn’t know New Mexico was a state. He raised hell (at least he said that when being interviewed on WMAL) and the supervisor finally googled New Mexico. Of course they apologized. WOW

Did a google and came up with the story:

Not surprising at all. Listen to that idiot Congress person Cortez talk and you get a picture perfect idea of why this country is in trouble.

I was also an introverted, unsocial child who interacted very little with other kids (and honestly I'm still kind of the same way). So it was those notions of the balance of nature, predator and prey, and intraspecific competition for mates and resources during my formative years helped shape my morality and general outlook growing up.
Consequently, even now as an adult I often, rightly or wrongly, look at things through a sort of evolutionist or evo-psych lense.
You have a fundamental flaw in your "survival of the fittest" view. Darwin wasn't always talking about strongest, fastest, most intelligent, etc. That was probably true 10,000 years ago but the essence of his idea was "most successful for the environment."

So in today's standards, what people most successfully exploit their surroundings. Is it those who manage get get provided for by the government with food, housing and income while reproducing at three or four times the rate of those whose tax dollars support them?

Sometimes "survival of the fittest" is talking about the cockroach. Humans almost came close to eradicating most of the other significant predators on the planet with wolves, bears, lions and tigers nearing extinction at certain points in time. Only dedicated conservation efforts preserved them.

But we've never come close to making roaches or rats an endangered species. For most environments they are the most adaptable and "fittest."
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

    Chuck, we miss ya man.

Thats completely correct, but as a kid I didn't totally grasp the finer points of it. I just saw the slow gazelle get picked off time and time again, and as an isolated child who was unable to truly make himself believe in any religion, developed a morality with a dash of Serengeti Plains in it.
But yeah, in an urban nieghborhood a pug is more "fit" than a timber wolf. And in modern US politics the Dems, despite their loathsomeness, frequently prove to be the the more fit "organisms" compared to the perpetually outmatched, outmaneuvered GOP.
I was more just trying to explain why to this day I tend to look at everything through a "we're just animals" style lens.
