    mil-spec stocks

I am wonder which companies make mil-spec A2 stocks and buffer tubers? CMT, DPMS, Colt etc. I tried doing research but most of the info is on collapsible not full stocks.

You are saying all the A2 stocks, and buffer tubes are mil-spec? I ask because I did read once on Ar-15 that is not the case

Colt would be your best bet, folloed by CMT in terms of quality.

Does Colt make their own? Doubtful.

I think there is some difference in the materials companies use in there A2 stocks. For example I bought an A2 stock at a gunshow from a person I know and from what I understand it came off a colt. I compared it once to an A2 stock from a rock river and found some differences. The colt might have a metal buttplate (not sure) and has more metal in the trapdoor assembly. This section on the rock river was completely plastic. Another difference was the filler material in the stock. On the colt this was a hard plastic taht could be slightly scored by my fingernail, while with the rock river I could easily remove the filler material with my finger nail because for some reason the filler material wasn't nearly as hard. The rock river stoc did have one advantage over the colt though. The trap door on the rock river could easily be opened, whereas the colt required a scredriver to push down the latch so I could open it. Maybe this stuff doesn't matter, but I did find another case where it might be worth looking for a better brand.

what is the difference in a mil-spec & a commercial buffer tube on a collapsable
stock, i would like to fit a vltor clubfoot stock but dont know if the tube is the
same size ? , ( what are the difference in dimensions ? ) at present i have a sabre defence stock fitted

If you use your search-fu the answer is there. A MILSPEC tube has a diameter of 1.14" and a commercial tube has a diameter is 1.17". You will need to aks Sabre as I have no idea what they use. The MISLPEC tubes are also stronger due to the way they are made. IMHO you are better off using a MILSPEC lower receiver extension (buffer tube) as opposed to a commercial one. A word of caution do not try and force a MILSPEC stock onto a commercial tube.
