Ok, I'm getting another Steyr Scout.

Local shop has one. Just fondled it. One of the coolest guns I’ve seen in a while. It’s way more than I could afford. Sick that it has the 2nd mag, bipod and irons. Perfect for someone that can’t afford an optic too.

I’m looking for a hunting rifle for my first deer hunt next winter so this wasn’t really what I was looking for anyway.

Anyone hunt with one? What kind of accuracy are the flutes ones capable of?

Mine was a 1 MOA or slightly better rifle with just about any quality ammo, although it did show a preference for 150gr bullets which you could sometimes get down to .5 MOA.

I’m looking to buy a sako a7 and some sort of vortex for my first deer hunt this winter as well as target this summer but this thread has me side tracked by the Steyr.

A rifle from SAKO is almost never a bad idea either, excellent bolt guns from Finland.

This thread sparked my interest. Then I looked at what's available in lefty...not much. I'm shocked at how much Ruger charges for theirs. At my wholesaler anyway.

Yeah I agree, the only reason I didn’t have the gray stock when I had one is I couldn’t find one.

My local shop quoted me $1585 plus tax and cc fee. Kind of a lot to spend before an optic for me. Sako rings and optic (Nikon 2-10) (Vortex pst gen II 2-10)was going to be between $1300-1800 plus $10 shipping and $35 transfer.
