Very true. There are typically several very nice 1911s on there for really good deals, it’s about the only reason I’m a member. The Pro, as nice as it is, seems a bit like you’re paying for what it is, instead of the features.

There seems an abundance of folks that on Addicts that are more focused on acquiring the latest/greatest, than actually shooting.
Just my sense. It is a great outlet for picking up some really fine pistols, very reasonably.

Oh my! 1911addicts is dangerous! To the op looking to buy, definitely start your search there. Still, a Dan Wesson will shoot every bit as nice as any of the higher priced, custom guns your going to see.

Depending on your carry preference, I’m a Valor guy through and through. As noted, it’s heavy! Which is probably why it shoots so smooth. Ive owned a Valor and recently picked up a Specialist, with the duty finish. Never owned a Springer, but I have shot plenty and personally prefer the DW trigger - crisper, clean break and quick reset. Either way, you can’t go wrong. It’s a Dan Wesson!

I own a VBOB (Valor Commander Bobtail) and a Vigil CCO (Commander barrel/slide, officer's frame). Quality wise both pistols are the same. Same parts, barrel, slide material, and tool steel parts. The big difference is of course frame material and sights. The Vigil has an aluminum frame and and Ameriglo front night sight. The rear sight is a Dan Wesson all blacked out rear.

The Vigil also has the Duty Treat on the slide and in all honesty, when comparing the two, I like my Vigil more. I simply love the gun.

Realistically? Probably about as good as the auto manufacturers are after your warranty runs out. Not trying to be snarky, just seems to be the way of the world these days. Bottom line is the bottom line.

As to the question on which? Probably would be well served by either. But, the Vigil Commander I handled the other day was very nice, especially for the price. It really has me thinking about a new dedicated carry piece.

CZ/Dan Wesson treat their customer well from my experience.
I can't really think of an issue with a 1911 that would develop after 5 years, if theres is something wrong with a pistol it MOSTLY shows up right away.

One other difference. Vigil has a ramped barrel. Traditionally in 45ACP that can be a problem. Don’t know if DW has it sorted out, but it’s a bit more of a trick to get the ramped 45ACP to run right. Traditional barrel setup (ramp on frame) is more proven.

Again, FW may have it sorted out but I’d test the Vigil heavily with my carry ammo before carrying.

(Disclosure: I own valor, VBOB, and Specialist. All have been “flawless”. In the Valor’s case through thousands of rounds. Specialist maybe 1000, VBOB 750 or so).

I never heard or knew about the place, before reading your post here and You are ofcourse 100% Correct about the Sales on handguns there! OMGoodness,
I can easily say, this IS most, and I do mean MOST Certainly, Where I'll be buying my next 1911 from, as the choices are Incredible!!! There IS easily 7 to 10 of them right now, I would
snag if it wasn't for other areas were my cash Has to go.
