Will this work, or Can you help me? Blanks/Suppressor

In the next couple of weeks, I am going to have a film crew produce a :30, 1:30 and 3:00 video for a product I have been working on for the firearms industry. Its not a firearm. However, we don't need live ammunition to demonstrate the product so I was wanting to modify and existing upper to shoot semi auto suppressed. Rapid fire suppressed.

I feel I can go about this 2 ways:

    1. I can modify the flash hider/suppressor mount. I thought about adding two small washers with a small hole into the flash hider before attaching to the barrel. I feel as though this would create the back pressure needed to cycle the gun and allow enough gas to go through, allowing the suppressor to sound like a normal suppressor.

    2. I can modify an old barrel. I don't know how to do this other than other than grind a little slot about 1" from the gas port towards the muzzle, weld a small washer in slot.

Will any of these work? Or, how would you go about doing this?

This>>> https://www.cdvs.us/product/2235-56-...firing-device/ You probably don't need the hole. Doesn't the mil blank adapter completely seal the bore?

It does not. It has a gas pathway.

Why not just use a BFA?

That Hollywood BFD would be the way to go.

I think the BFA will work, and $5 is a deal.
    Thanks

Just make sure to match the BFA to the gas system/barrel length. Red = Rifle, Yellow = M4.

For what it's worth, you are going to DESTROY your silencer if you use Hollywood high flash blanks. I fired about 200-300 blank rounds through a SilencerCo Omega on a film set, and the Stellite blast baffle had giant chunks missing. I've seen silencers with 10k+ rounds that didn't look anywhere near that bad. Be warned...
