Hard to describe this one as anything but utterly creative, refreshing, and all over the place, and can't really be categorized. It's funny, it's dark, it's strange. Directed by Boots Riley, it has a stellar cast all around. It was obviously done on a budget, but they did a solid jib of using it wisely. It's rare to see modern movies working on so many levels and clearly not just trying to appeal to the lowest common denominator of viewers. It takes a look at culture, greed run amok, friendship, an alternative future, and horse-humans.. A-
