I have a Primary Arms 2.5X Prism which is good for most everything. But Mrs. Bullseye will not approve a loaded bedside pistol so my AR 15 has to double for home defense. Now, I have a light and detachable sling but I notice in practice I would rather have just irons for home defense. The scope just gets in the way at 10 feet. A red dot would be cool for short distance, quick acquisition too like in the yard. I found this by accident on the internet.

This red dot is 6.5 oz. with detachable mount. It flips up and down---down when not in use and THEY SAY my flip up irons are taller than the red dot in the collapsed position so that irons can be used indoors. This window looks rather fragile but it would not be used in an ongoing combat, SHTF situation---just immediate home and yard defense.
So, QUESTION---is this flipdot a good idea for me or junk
