Glock Gen5 Half Moon Cutout

You can see the Pearce Mag extension in the lower right of photo. I did knock off the sharper edges with sandpaper, smoothed right up



What I like better is from Gunbroker, I bought a G19.5 MOS lower/NIB takeoff

and used it on my slide worked on by @ateiguns



Frame and slide SN's don't match. Doesn't matter to me.

Oh I like that idea! Is there a particular seller that sells lowers, or just whatever's there when you run a search?

The notch didn’t bother me on Gen 2s and it doesnt bother me on Gen 5/Ms.

Gen 2 and early Gen 3 came with the cutout. It never bothered me then and doesn't bother me now. I've done hundreds of reloads on my Gen 2 G22 and Gen 5 G19 and haven't had a single fumbled reload due to the cutout. I've heard a lot of people on the net say it would happen but it didn't happen to me.

The cutout on the G17.5 does NOT bother me. The G19.5 with cutout did a lot until I used a nail file on it.
The open area cutout I am conscious of it being there. The G19.5 MOS frame is Fantastic feeling.

I use my front serrations. The slick finish on the 19.5/17.5's is a knuckle buster W/O FS

I’ve read several more comments on various forums attributed to Glock reps since SHOT stating that future production runs will not have the cutout, but they don’t seem to want to commit to a date when they will start showing up. It sounds like it’s just a matter of time, so we’ll have to be patient and wait.

What seems less certain is whether all future production will include the forward slide serrations as standard. I get the impression that’s the case, but it doesn’t seem as solid.

I hope all future Gen5s will also have the breech face notch/bevel as on the 45 and Gen5 MOS models.
