M&P 2.0 Barrel Hood Wear Normal?

    Hey guys,

I recently picked up a brand new M&P 2.0 Compact (9mm) yesterday; it's my first striker fired/modern handgun. I was lubing it up today and noticed this wear on the barrel hood. Normal? Thanks.

P.S. Yes, it's snowing here already

Completely normal. Make sure you lube that area inside the slide that rides on that surface too. The back end of the barrel or the contact points of the barrel with the slide and frame are probably the most critical lube points on it. There are about 7 lube points and literally one drop of oil on each point is plenty. They are in the manual. Doesn't need to be dripping, just not dry either.

Completely normal. My Ruger SR9 carry gun does the same thing. When reassembling I put a couple drops of Breakfree LP on the corresponding wear-spot inside the top of the slide and rack a few times.
