I am trying to remember, (this was yearssss ago)
my friend bought a new bone stock G20. The pistol would not fire with a slow trigger press but would fire with a hammer press.
IIRC, the back part of the trigger bar (where it makes a 90 degree turn in) was making contact with the frame.
We clearanced the frame and slow trigger press reliability returned.
Not sure if this is your problem but I thought I would throw it in.
I’ve had nothing but trouble with Zev parts over the last 7 years. I keep thinking that they might improve but end up wasting several hundred bucks just to prove that they haven’t. There are much better sources for performance parts though I honestly get excellent results out of oem parts and Wolff springs with some serious reworks and some LWD stuff thrown in.
Make sure that “gunsmith” is a certified Glock armorer; not that non certified guys don’t understand the system but a non specialist may miss subtle details. For the record, glocks survive 5000 round torture tests. A little crud on the fp safety plunger is not going to stop it and it’s definitely not your reset problem.

I am a “certified Glock Armorer” it means I’m qualified to detail strip Glocks and make ice cubes.
Real trouble shooting isn’t addressed until the advanced Armorer class. Most performance parts are bullshit. Put that money into ammo and training. The answer to 95% Of Glock issues is go back to stock and learn to shoot.

^^^^This. My carry gun is my bone stock 20 year old G30. The only hiccup I have had is when breaking in a new magazine, which was the mag's fault that corrected itself after a few cycles. I completed a pistol training course last night and that itself is worth more than mods to the gun. IMHO.

So I agree with enhancing a carry gun if you like however it has to be done in a way that is reliable and robust.
I’ll modify one using oem parts and some LWD parts but the FCG components are factory. I’ll add Wolff springs to make it easier to use.
You can really carry a race gun nor would I want to.
A decent reduced travel trigger with all safeties intact so that you can shoot it accurately is plenty.
