I sure can't find one!

Why doesn't Ruger make the American in 7.62x54? The rotary mag would work well with the rimmed cartridge.

Might be because Ruger is in the business of making money and that would be a loser.

No point. Commercial ammo is not cheap for basic ammo. Equal price 308 would be better quality ammo. Surplus ammo, besides being corrosive and inconsistent, is gone and what's left is expensive

May I suggest the Dragunov? (Albeit not Bolt Action, they are some sexy beasts)

ETA: I would also love a classic Lever Action Russion M1895. That would be an amazing piece of history to possess.

Ultimately, at the end of the day though, Arik is right.

Buy a nice .308.

I own a 1943 Manufactured by Russian Izhevsk Factory. Matching Numbers on the Parts, clean Solid Bore; I shoot it a few times a year.

But, it will never get as much use as my other bolts due to ammo availability and cost. Plus, hitting your bore with Windex everytime you're done using corrosive is a pain in the ass.
