Would like to put a Geissele for the build but I'm not sure it will work on a AR10 (Aero) upper/barrel.

Of the two AR10s I have built I have used a PRI and a Centurion. Both are pretty great

    OP,

I'm going to tell you straight up to skip all this nonsense and buy a SR-25 with matching KAC suppressor.

What about the Aero ATLAS rail? Takes compatibility out of the picture. CMT makes a sweet rail as well and I think they are DPMS spec. You just need to make sure you're buying DPMS spec parts where it counts. Rail, upper/lower, gas tube, and it's highly recommended to get the Aero carbine, or rifle receiver extension/buffer kit.

There is a Geissele SR-25 tan rail on ebay right now. The previous idiot owner ground down the tabs on the rail to fit some piece of shit billet upper.

He wants $800 for it, which is way too much since it has been modified. Also, anyone selling guns parts on ebay (instead of gunbroker) is an idiot.

There are less than 20 Geissele AR-10/SR-25 rails that are in private hands.

There is no handguard worth a shit for AR-10 builds unless you can find a non-cataloge Geissele (big $$$$), SWS, or DD light rail.

I just got done building a Armalite Illinois pattern AR-10A with non-cataloge Geissele rail and Noveske Illinois pattern original N6 barrel. I spent just as much as an SR-25 and the project was a massive pain in the ass.

And I don't think much of DPMS pattern AR-10s at all.

Not even considering a 308 AR build but the this rail deal has me thinking about it.

Could also go the LMT MWS route, the downside is weight. Very accurate rifles though.

Do you not like DPMS design or quality?
