11.5 Middy for dedicated suppressed use

Say I’ve got a 14.5 middy with a gas port at .080. I know Faxon has a 11.5 middy with a huge gas port but I have no intention of using this without a suppressor. Say I chopped the 14.5 to 11.5 and used it as a dedicated suppressed barrel. Would it run with the .080 gas port? I think so. What say you?

I think .80 will be pretty gassy with suppressor. Does it have to be a middy? Check out the Sionics ERGP barrel, it's meant for dedicated suppressor use. I believe their port is smaller than .070
It is from the construction of underground FEMA camps. I can't say more because there a guy parked in front of house in an AMC Pacer. He is acting like he talking on the phone, but I know better.

I have to sign off now & put my laptop in the microwave.

It does. Instead of buying a new barrel I’d like to just have a smith chop the one I have now. As I understand it, Faxon’s middy was like a .1 port diameter. Now that thing was built to be ran with or without a can.

I should mention that I will run an H2 buffer with an adjustable gas block.

If you are running 100%suppressed I would just get a gas block insert from Black River tactical. .70 should be good, maybe even a little smaller. Less moving parts than an adjustable and cheaper

That actually might be in the ballpark.

Depending on the suppressor mount, consider threading the muzzle 5/8-24.

Yeah I’m not opposed to a BRT insert, I just already have an SLR adjustable block that may do the trick.

Yes. Strongly consider 5/8-24. .080" with a mid & 11.5" barrel should be pretty close and with the AGB...

Suppressor is a YHM Turbo which uses a 1/2-28” mount. I’m anxious to get my eForm1 back soon so I can have this bad boy chopped - I’m pending FBI now. :/

Do you mind explaining why you suggest that threading? Not questioning your wisdom, just genuinely interested.
