Mr. Vickers was not a member of 1st SFOD-D when it was founded in 1977, he graduated high school sometime in the 80's and enlisted in a delayed entry program before he graduated.
As for the workout, in the video you guys are talking about he mentions Iron Forge Athletics in Fayetteville, NC that was started up by two SF Soldiers.

It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.
Chuck, we miss ya man.

Thank you Moose-Knuckle... I had forgotten the mention of Iron Forge in the video. This is what I was referring to.
7n6, no need sir I was just crediting him with an outstanding class relaying a ton of info in a limited time. He also let us try out some of his NFA stuff including a 13" Galil SAR (the original one) which I fell in love with.
Steyr AUG, agreed 100%.
Can't wait to get my copy of this book...
No problemo gents, glad I could be of service. Everything I have learned about Mr. Vicker's is from his interviews which are all on YouTube, some his own production staff did, others were the Military Channel, and even the Trey Knight interviews of him are loaded with truth bombs and nuggets about his storied career.

I was with Mr. Vickers while he was in Izhevsk and Moscow working on a book. What can I say, he is a really amazing guy. He is even more knoweledgeble about weapons than you can guess from his videos.
The day before he left I recorded two interviews with him, one about Kalashnikovs in general and another one about new firearms he tested during that trip. Here is the link: https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/...l-ak-upgrades/
Sorry if the video is not working properly, I will ask to upload this stuff on youtube.

Vlad - welcome to M4C. I will be really interested in reading your posts, I am going to purchase an AK this spring.
Was gifted this book as an early Christmas. About halfway through and really enjoying it, tons of good info.
Similar to some posters above - I’m also looking into the AK market. Are the Arsenal’s and Saiga’s the go to for factory rifles? Prices for both of these are well into solid AR territory.
