Old Living WWII veteran, Richard Overton

I'm sure some of you know who that is. But if not, I made that meme. The oldest living WWII veteran, a 112 years old, gun totin' cigar smokin' whisky drinkin' stud:

"Overton gained media attention during the 2013 Memorial Day weekend when he told Fox News he would spend his Memorial Day 'smoking cigars and drinking whiskey-stiffened coffee.'

The car in his driveway is older than me!

I can tell you for a certainty that Mr Overton likes Buffalo Trace Bourbon.

And a nice Fuente is appreciated as well.

I met a 96 year old WWII vet two days ago. He was fit as a fiddle and we had a pleasant conversation. Very wise man, he was.

I hope he's a local celeb in his town and never wants for his Bourbon, etc.

Trust me, he is. They renamed the street where he lives after him.

When I visited, there were several other folks there to pay their respects. We all had offerings to share. He was a very kind gentleman, and it was a pleasure and an honor to shake his hand and listen to him speak.

Excellent. I'd be more interested to meet him than any movie star, rock star, etc.

Sounds like a cool guy, hope he sticks around awhile. And with out thieves or anyone else screwing with him again.

Not sure what my eye to brain wiring was doing to it, but FINALLY after the first 2 or 3 times of seeing the headline my mind doesn't skip to, "well crap, he passed away".

Has good taste in hardware, too... that's a late 1928A1 TSMG. Most of the way to an M1's features, but still has top-cocking and the drum slots.
