Zeroing an ACOG on a 100 Yard Rifle Range

I do not have access to a 100 meter target where I shoot, so I have to zero at 100 yards. What should be my POA at 100 yards for a precise 100 meter zero? I did read this post and am still left a bit confused precisely where to hold when shooting at 100 yards, to get a precise 100 meter zero. Or, and again apologies for my ignorance, but perhaps it doesn't matter much? However, I do have access to ranges out to 800 yards, so .... My ACOG is the donut with dot in the middle of it. Thank for any advice on this.

Use a ballistic calculator for sight height and load while using 109.361 yards for the zero distance. Going to guess there won't be a difference though. It might help to use the offset at 50 yards and adjust the point of aim versus impact to match the calculated if the offset of 100 yards for 100m zero comes up 0.00" which is likely.

And may be a moot point altogether considering the 1/2" clicks.

It is moot. Ammo selection is more critical. And with barrel variances, etc. Zeroing at 100 yards is adequate, and what we do. When you get out to 500 plus yards, the 4 power magnification is really not adequate for precision shooting. The practical application of the ACOG really doesn't beg for an absolutely perfect 100m zero. We run them out all the time, and don't use mil spec ball ammo.

In my opinion, selecting a good round and figuring out any elevation favors is the way to go.

Flight path for 5.56 is virtually identical at 100 meters and 100 yards.

We've found the reticle to track pretty good with most target loads on the 62-77 gr scale. Black Hills 69 gr TMKs would likely smoke the come ups because that ammo is crazy flat shooting, but for the practical application of the 4X with BDC type reticle, the ACOG works well.
