LMT Mars lower safety engages when not charged

Hey guys. My friend has an LMT Mars lower (ambi) that was purchased stripped, and we installed a JM Pro trigger during assembly. Everything seems to function fine except that the safety is able to engage and disengage when the gun is not charged and the hammer is dropped. The safety does function just fine when the gun is charged.

Any thoughts on what might be causing this to happen?

What is the Safety make? Also check with Mossberg to make sure that the ability to safety on a dropped trigger is not a feature of the trigger.
