    Vintage Trooper Shooting (1987)

As much as things change, some stay the same. I have a love/hate affair with GSP. A lot of attitude and uppitiness just over ticket cutting but....they are also our state's mascots so much love. I've backed them. They've backed me.

    Notes:
The fat guy is NOT a Trooper. Can't make out the patch but he is not GSP. He is local backup.

The chubby cop has a Model 19. That was the gun du jour of the day. The last breed swore by them, even eschewing the more advanced 686. Most loaded .38s as .357s were frowned upon do to folks protesting how "unfair" .357 is. The NAACP did this a lot in the day. So a lot of policies started banning magnum loads. bleh.

Trooper has a 645 which was so high speed in the day. Troopers used the gamut of glamour guns for a while. Stainless Python 4"s, 645s, 4506s....then the gay ass Glock 37 which was pointless and political. Now they use real Glocks.

The perp kinda did need shooting.

    And finally....current year sucks.

That was painful to watch. I thought it was going to turn into another Dinkheller type incident.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Yep. "You'll make it brah"

People didnt used to be so uptight. Folks now want M4s to respond to domestics.

Sheeeyit. 1980s GSP such as it was he probably just left the ticket with the hospital and got 10-8 and ate a good lunch, cut a few more tickets, and put the shoes to old girl later that night. Probably just gave em the spent casing. Like kept the same gun and finished his shift.

No piss tests, no days off, no bullsheeyit.

I'm somewhat joking. But man....those were the days. Hell even the early 00s were more fun.

If dipshit is still alive 30 years on, I bet he is pooping out of a bag. Winchester Super X Silvertips, I'd wager. I don't think Rangers or Black Talons happend yet.

I still have some Black Talons .45 ACP. A neat memento. Old Ranger boxes too.

I sometimes think about selling all my shit save for my Smith 45, an 870, my M16E1 clone and buying a boat. And head to the islands.

    Which islands?

    Any islands

Oh HELL no, sir. I only post positive stuff.

I, to this day, walk out on Dash Cam snuff films. I'm exempt. You can miss me with that.

Roscoe P. Coltrane not knowing whether to have his gun or not while Trooper has a dude at gunpount irked me but it had a happy ending.

Trooper talking about the suspect he just shot: “I can’t believe how stupid he is.”

    Made me LOL.

Nothing makes the guy on the hood more compliant than shooting the non compliant person in the passengers seat.

Say what you will, that Trooper was running the show and you can tell he was running things because he gave LOTS of chances to not get shot.

Saw that video in the academy in 1994. We were told chubby retired shortly after watching how close he came to loosing his gun. I don't remember when the silver tips showed up but the Federal Nyclad 38 special plus + were the round to have in the late 80's early 90's. Everybody still smoked and no one wore a seatbelt or had body armor. David

I remember that video clearly, it was shown in training years ago . The video that sticks with me, though, is the Trooper Mark Coates video. I worked for a PD in the same county that occurred in about a year after it happened and most of the officers there knew him well. He shot the POS 5 times in the chest with a .357, the guy gets off a shot with a NAA mini revolver. Trooper Coates is hit in the armpit and bleeds to death while the POS lives. The video is very hard to watch.

You bastards just made me look up both the Coates and Dinkheller incidents.

My evening is now ruined and I have a fresh urge to both train more and continue avoiding society at large...
