    The Predator (Review)

The director of this movie should be flogged in public. I have not seen a movie this F-ing awful in I don't know when. I was not expecting much, and it delivered complete crap. I turned it off several times, but slogged through. The lesson is global warming is bad (yes, they managed to work global warming in as a theme) and the rest is the biggest mess I can remember. How this POS got the green light from any studio I don't know. Even the CGI looks low budget in spots. It's so bad, it may go onto be a classic. The trailer almost makes it look not completely terrible, but it was. Anyone part of this movie should be ashamed of themselves. It gets the + only because there's a few good one liners, and it's very pro mil/veteran. Avoid. F+

    Sad.

The holy triad of Predator, Terminator, and Alien have been desecrated numerous times by various ass clowns.

I would rather come up with 5 million to make a Kung Fury / Ninja Commando team up movie and see how that would turn out.

Hell, I would have given the maker of either of those 10 million and told them to do a sequel to any of the above if I had it, with instructions only to name it as serious and good as the original terminator, alien/aliens, and Original predator.

What they could have done with that kind of money he vs these abortions costing several times more...

I do not thing a stoned high school kid with a handy cam could make a worse movie.

I tried to find at least some redeeming qualities of that POS movie, so F+ was best I could do.

    Franchises always suck.

By Alien 3 it already sucked.

Predator? By the second installment it had lots of problems even if the expanded on the "aliens of safari"
aspect. Everything after that was horrible culminating in Aliens vs Predator.

The Terminator? There were two films and after that it went sideways.

So now we have Prometheus trying to catch fire in a jar one more time, but it's not original, it's formulaic designed to create more and more movies until they have something close to the Marvel Universe.

Actually, I liked Predator 2. A. Because 1997 was just like that. and B. It had Officer Murtaugh fighting the Predator.

I sorta even liked the idea of Predators even if it was half assed in execution.

The fact is....you aren't ever going to get a legit Alien, Terminator, or Predator movie again. It either is a "re-imagining", a self aware "reboot", or a self effacing "re-telling"

So....I got all the Aliens, Terminator, and Predator films I need to see and oddly they all stop at part 2. Alien 3 COULD have been good but killing Newt was a chump move. It totally shits on the epicness of Aliens. You survive LV-426 and have a daring showdown with the Queen just so all the people we like get to die horribly and in undignified manner to get two hours of bald Sigourney Weaver with no Pulse Rifle dying at the end...

    Boooo

The only good part was the soundtrack. The score of Alien 3 was great. But everything else. Lame.

I kinda liked Prometheus. I didn't like how they shoehorned a Xenomorph just for reasons but it touched on the concept that we could be some advanced race's bastard children and they probably hate us.

I liked Predator II. It was over the top, but well done. I didn't feel like the director literally hated me afterward. Alien 3 was not bad movie per se, just depressing and not in line with the prior 2 films. It had no real reason to exist and added nadda to the story. Never saw Prometheus.

Alien 3 and 4 need to be erased from the "Alien" universe and a new timeline established from when Ripley and the other survivors left LV426.
