    TLR Weapon Mounted Light Switches

I have TLR1s, of various flavors, on all of the long guns I would plan to use for defense. I'd like to add a remote pad on top of the rails on my ARs. This seems to be the current thought in managing lights on ARs.

I think I need one of each of these per rifle. Am I right?

    Yep!

Id consider keeping but grinding off the nub on the new tail cap for ND's.

I'm not a big rifle, or light, guy. I stopped shooting 3 gun 5 years ago. I'm returning to rifle for defensive use. What do you mean by ND?

Negligent discharge of the light by unintentionally bumping the paddle.

Bingo. Depending on how you mount it, that arm likes to get bumped. Cut off the arm/paddle part & leave the flush lever - if you need constant light it's there, if you don't it's less likely to get hit by accident. If it's just a nightstand gun you probably wont have to worry about it. Start shooting 3 gun again or taking night classes & it's worth consideration.
