Bolt action to fit 14 yo young lady

My granddaughter wants to hunt with her father. He has not found a rifle that she can carry or shoot related to weight and ergonomics. Any suggestions; she has shot his 30-06 but no go

Check out the Ruger American compacts. A co worker has one in 350 Legend that his ten year old can handle.

I'm a big fan of the Ruger scout especially with the synthetic stock.

They come in a range of calibre's, have an adjustable LOP, irons to learn on and can be set up for regular or LER scopes as well as being short and reasonably light weight.

Check out the CZ 527 Carbine in 7.62x39 ! My buddy has one and its a tack driver and if your hunting only Deer this would be a great gun. I have one in 223 and its a great rifle. MSRP is high but they can be had for alot less if you look around.

    Weatherby Vanguard Synthetic Compact
Has a stock spacer to adjust pull. Proven Howa action, but much better stock.
Have one as a light hunting rifle, almost a Scout concept.
    Impressed with accuracy.

Don't be afraid to check out the Savage Line along with the Rugers as mentioned. BIG bonus with the Savage is price and normally pretty available at most gun shops. They are great starter rifles for youths and every rifle I have seen has been crazy accurate. Ya can't go wrong with a 243 but it is offered in other calibers, like 6.5 Creedmore. They are probably on par with the Ruger American as far as price goes, but maybe it can be had for less if you shop around.
