I don’t know how much substance there is to this train of thought, but I’ve always assumed Vortex is a bigger company and therefore would be more likely to be around longer. Plus I don’t see a problem with exercising some brand loyalty - I have a pair of binos, an LRF, two red dots, and a Razor from Vortex. They treated me well in the past so I’m happy to continue using them as long as they offer something that fulfills my need. Right now I have two Crossfires and plan on a third, all for misc range guns. If they ever make a serious use RDS/holo that doesn’t look like an absolute brick, I’ll look very hard at it. In the meantime one of my other ARs will likely get a Viper 1-6 and at some point I’ll suck it up and get a decent spotter and tripod from them too.
