I also agree with the OP about SA being the preferred mode even with a select fire weapon, especially in terms of accountability. I remember when MP5 training changed from "short bursts/center mass" to "rapid doubles/triples."

Select fire has it's place but it seems to be about suppression fire.

We still shoot two to the chest and one to the head on full auto during the qual course. I would say about 50 percent of the time someone on the line gets two rounds off on the head shot or puts one of the head shots over the silhouette. David
