While I don't live in the country, there are direct avenues of approach to my home that exceed 175 yards, measured with a Leica rangefinder. An extended (key word) breakdown of the social order changes things, but I don't dwell too much on extremely low probability events.

PID is happening after hostilities have commenced or are obviously going to. It's being sure of your target where there are often non combatants. Often at ranges where it's difficult to see details, but very uncomfortable to be shot at from.
