If I were head of marketing at Gillette I'd be making an ad with this guy in it.
Myself and most of the customer base will never be as awesome as this magnificent Brit face-shooter, but at least it's an example to aspire to.
I just don't get how the ad that they went with is supposed to sell more razors.

Meanwhile I'm like halfway through a bag of Bic disposables that'll probably take me another six months to use, so it's not like Gillette lost my business, as they never had it in the first place.

The modern "progressive" feminist woman doesn't want a strong male in her life to provide for her and protect her from predators (including other "strong males" who might not necessarily all be good guys). She might still marry or have relationships with men but intellectually she rejects the notion of traditional gender roles. However, being female, she still has the same biological drive for those typically female wants - for herself and/or her offspring to be taken care of and protected. So as a "strong independent woman" who don't need no man, The State becomes her man, providing for her and protecting her and her progressively reared, gender neutral offspring (probably fathered by some hipster male feminist who poses for photos with that ridiculous open-mouthed facial expression, or alternatively some actual "strong male" she fell for in a moment of primordial weakness and now lambasts as a total asshole.)
It in my opinion explains why women tend to be more positively predisposed toward socialism in general.

You have described word for word my wife's brother and his rabidly progressive wife. She has a Master's degree in counseling and works for a non-profit. He stays home, "home schools" the kids, and smokes prodigious amounts of Ganja. They decided one of their sons is transsexual when he was 2.

You did forget to mention that a lot of these women go out of their way to be less attractive than they already are.
