    https://lauraburgess.com/meprolight-...epro-foresight

Middletown, Penn. (January 2019) – Meprolight USA®, the US sales and marketing division of Meprolight®, a world leader in a variety of optic solutions from electro-optics sights, self-illuminated night sights, innovative pistol sights will be unveiling the most radical innovation in weapon sight systems in years at the 2019 SHOT Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, Jan. 22 – 25, 2019. The MEPRO FORESIGHT, the first augmented weapon sight on the market today, provides essential tactical data projected right on the transparent optical lens.

The data, projected in real-time, includes battery level, sensor data, Bluetooth connectivity and a shot counter (future software upgrade). It has five present reticles for various tactical scenarios, a built-in compass and an inside leveler to maximize hitting capability. A built-in sensor allows for automatic brightness adjustment. A digital zeroing mechanism allows the user to load a present zeroing profile from Meprolight’s mobile APP (Android and iOS) through a Bluetooth interface.

The Meprolight MEPRO FORESIGHT APP allows up to 10 zeroing weapon profiles or user profiles. It features up-to-date and the latest MEPRO FORESIGHT firmware a rich reticle database, plus it allows previously stored profiles from the mobile APP to the sight.

The MEPRO FORESIGHT augmented weapon sight powers with a rechargeable battery or USB-C port. The display window dimensions are 1.299” x .787” (33 x 20mm) with an overall dimension of 4.6” x 2.35” x 2.65” (117 x 60 x 68mm) and weighs a mere 9.9 oz. (280 grams). The MEPRO FORESIGHT is a game changer when it comes to optic solutions for the tactical or sport shooter.

Retailers can now order Meprolight® products, including new 2019 products from Meprolight USA®, the US-based division of Meprolight at sales@meprolight.us or call 833-MEPROLIGT (833-637-7654),

A little bit 007-ey, but I could see this having use on range-toy guns with quick-change barrel kits.

By itself a baby step, interesting not so much for itself but as a harbinger of things to come--I've long expected to someday see an optic that gives you a view of the world akin to a Quake III Arena screen.

Besides offering more reticles and auto-brightness, I'm underwhelmed. Just more electronic components to fail.

I assume Mako will be the distributor with questionable customer service and only carry a 1 year warranty like the rest of their products.

Looks to be based largely on the design of the Mepro RDS which I was excited about until the first battery ruptured outside a year then the second. It's apparently a common issue. The auto-on feature failed once until I whacked the sight a few times.

One of the few saving graces of the RDS is the clear and wide field of view so this sight should benefit from that.

Sight levelor seems useless on an rds- might be cool on a scope.
    Round counter seems useless IMO.

Would be cool in some glasses or goggles, but all this info in an optic seems like the right (some of it) stuff in the wrong place.

Im not a “tactical” person at all, but I would think this info would be best seen when moving or when not looking through your sight in general.

Its a sight, not a HUD.

That said, the tech and ideas might lead to cool stuff down the road.

Mako Group is out. Meprolight took complete control of Meprolight USA and along with that a new US warehouse facility in PA within close proximity to IWI USA.

The preset zeroes could be handy in a few different ways. A lot of the rest sounds like a bunch of busy in the field of view.
