My wife is a custom-made 1911: Looks good on the outside, is good on the inside too, but she's expensive, temperamental, and a pain in the ass to deal with in adverse conditions. But I think that problem would be solved if she loosened up a bit.

But, as prior generations (right down to the very first man to ever hold her) have learned, she has a way to be handled correctly. Feed her well, know and appreciate her nuances, accept them and make catering those specific needs a daily ritual and she will never let you down. Never mind the wunderkind newcomers and their promises, what you have costs dearly but she will never let you down; just meet her demands and she provides solace for your needs.

I once did a thread called "Why My SKS Is Better Than Your AR-15" on TOS that so addressed this topic.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

    Chuck, we miss ya man.

A high end 1911 that is finicky as hell, never sure what it will do, always buying new stuff to make it happy, but it is the last gun you’d get rid of because it makes you happy.
The Second Amendment ACKNOWLEDGES our right to own and bear arms that are in common use that can be used for lawful purposes. The arms can be restricted ONLY if subject to historical analogue from the founding era or is dangerous (unsafe) AND unusual.

    It's that simple.

Probably some kind of HK because I like bitchiness and aloofness and dungeon stuff.

I'm not into Asians and the hair is too light (I like raven black hair) but this general aesthetic. Kinda rough trade, not too butch or femme. Not flighty, patient, but accepting of my eccentric nature. Inwardly a very caring person and reliable but off-putting and a bit intimidating. Very intuitive yet difficult.

Also she hates you and has never met you and you are probably a decent chap but she still hates you. Not really shy, just bitter and anti-social. Don't bring up religion or politics if you don't want your feelings hurt.

She has never seen a single episode of Seinfeld and sided with Barnes in Platoon.

ETA And most importantly she doesnt shave her underarms. And she loathes Pepsi products. And she is a mezzo soprano

Model 66 Combat Magnum, While complicated, simple classic that just works right anytime, anywhere and doesn't need to play dress up.

    A .460 Nitro Express, H&H bolt gun.

What you need in a (very) limited application, refined, ammo expensive as hell.
    Extremely expensive replacement parts.
