If these are genuine HK tooled G3 semis like the old Helinic Arms imports then I think they would be worth the premium over the knock-offs.
Let those who are fond of blaming and finding fault, while they sit safely at home, ask, ‘Why did you not do thus and so?’I wish they were on this voyage; I well believe that another voyage of a different kind awaits them.”

Not going to happen. HK had to completely redesign the rifle as the G41 and there was never a semi import. Probably better off with one of the CETME 5.56 models being produced now.

Pretty much, problem is PTRs should be too as they bought the FMP tooling. They just went off script with barrels and a few other features. They don't seem to be producing CHF barrels and apparently have no interest in doing so. If PTR started knocking out HK spec rifles they would destroy the clone market because they actually have HK tooling and presses.

Waiting for the day, until then I'll probably grab a MKE.

PTR stated what stops them is the CHF machinery

Getting one would add 500 to 600 to the price.

I stopped at a local shop for the first time yesterday afternoon - a shop I'd only recently learned of. They had the latest Century (C308[?]) abomination in stock; BUILT on a PTR lower, but STILL includes cobbled-together CETME parts throughout.

This Zenith would definitely be preferable, to a monkey-made Century.

I guess they didn't get everything from FMP.

You'd think PTR would at least offer nitrided barrels or something.

I wonder how hard it would be for someone like Daniel Defense to make some cold hammer forged chrome lined barrels for PTR or someone making G3 clones. I told HK the same thing with the MR556 - get DD to make some 416 style barrels for the American market.
