    holosun hs507c vs hs510c?

Hey guys, I just ordered a both a holosun hs510c (red dot) and he510c-gr elite (green dot) for use on my AR and planned to return whichever I liked less. However, now I have been reading about the hs507c, and am wondering if I made a mistake. It seems to be smaller and lighter than the ones I ordered, but almost all of the pics I see of it show it mounted on a handgun. Is this optic not intended for rifle use, or more suited to handguns? Should I go with the 507c over the 510c? Any help is much appreciated

Here are links to the products if you are not familiar:

    he510c-gr: https://www.opticsplanet.com/holosun...-gr-elite.html

edit - actually, after looking at the specs, I realized the glass is smaller on the 507c. I suppose this is what makes it more suitable for pistols?

The 507c is a pistol sight, meant to compete with the RMR. In fact, it has the same mounting footprint as a RMR. That doesn’t mean it won’t work on a rifle, but there are better options available.

    I had a 510c. I wasn't too impressed.

I really liked the 515GM i had though.

+1 on the 515GM. I also run one of the HS506 models. It's a 30mm tube more akin to the Aimpoint Pro Patrol Rifle optic. And it comes with a cantilever mount that's decent and will co-witness to your BUIS. That's my only complaint with Holosun. Most of their stuff comes with cheaply made mounts that are too tall to co-witness.

    Be safe.

I have a Vortex Venom (3 moa) on a M&P 15-22. It's probably recommended mostly for handguns but does fine on the carbine. Appears to be close in dimensions to the 507C. Have the 510C on a pistol and find it to be excellent. Same with my 503C.

I’ve heard there is a 508T coming out that is suppose to make the 507c look like it’ll fall apart if wind hits it. Andcwe know how tough the 507c is.

Of course this is hearsay. I haven’t heard much else about it. Granted I haven’t looked lately....
