    I was going to say this. On a deal you can get the Surefire stuff for a better buy, but it's not often.

    I had a feeling you'd show up in this thread eventually.

    I can definitely give my impression of it.

    At the risk of breaking the rules:
    My 2nd one will be listed in EE for less than retail (shipped) once it arrives. This should cover the cost of my next Malkoff adventure. (Mods - any trouble I’m in for posting this is clearly @canonshooters fault, for getting me back on the Malkoff hunt)

    .....and back on topic.

    Does it operate in a direct drive type state (when high amperage cells are used), slowly and smoothly reducing output as voltage drops? Does the output reduce in steps...1200 lumens for x minutes, then 700 after 1200 can't be maintained, then 350 after 700 can't be maintained, etc?

    .....and back off topic.

    I screwed the Hound Dog Super onto an MD2 on an AR. It fit comfortably. I'm actually not that impressed with the Super compared to my other Hound Dogs. Sure, it delivers a bit more lux on target, but at a pretty significant size penalty. I can comfortable carry an 18650 Hound Dog on an MD2 body in a pocket that won't come close to accepting a Super without discomfort.

    I wouldn't pay that for one of those either. To each his own. Not knocking you, I'm just blown away at the price of some things these days.

    If you're on instagram - scroll thru their feed and look for the side by side comparisons. I don't remember if they stated those exact specifications, but they did run the test group lights from a full charge down to shut-off.

    *I found the link. It's not as scientific as you enquired about, but it is a good comparison of other popular lights - https://www.instagram.com/p/BrDq1KZn...on_share_sheet

    At a weight of exactly 3.2 ounces, you can get set up with a Malkoff head on an Arisaka 300 clone body that will produce 750 lumens/20,000 lux on a single IMR 16340 cell;
    Which battery do you prefer in your single-cell setup? I've ordered the Malkoff E2ST (Super Throw) head to do some testing with.

    **** I just found your "Lightweight, 1000-lumen Scout 300 Recipe" thread. Thanks****
