Watching Small Arms Solutions YouTube live right now. Chris Bartocci just said an old colleague of his over at Colt said they are down to producing only lower receivers and extractors in house and outsourcing everything else.
Anyone heard this?

Yes, I got a bunch of 6920 uppers last week that had no cage code or C marked above the forward assist.
They went right ****ing back.
There are also a bunch of bolts appearing with just MP marked on them.

Does that mean that the 6920/6970/6933, etc in it's true form is dead?
Damn. I have another 6720 waiting for pickup at my FFL. How accurate is this and what should I look for?
Its accurate information.

Well, won’t be buying from them any longer if that’s true. I overlooked the poor fit & finish for years because it came with a high assurance of small parts & build quality. But if that’s no longer true then F*** ‘em frankly. Plenty of honest manufacturers to buy from...BCM, KAC, Sionics, SOLGW, FN, Centurion.
Seems like most brands outsource most of the components from OEM manufacturers. Might be why there are so many brands now days marketing their in-house QC.
Damn, I was about to SBR an older 6920. May just get a different Lower now.

ugh...ugh...
At one time I rolled about my bed of Colt Lowers Demi Moore style.
Now I LMT hoard.
Can someone tell me what all markings to look for or is there some thread that outlines it all?
I just checked a 6720 that I bought late 2017 and it has a C on the upper and a C on the barrel.
If the one sitting at my FFL is missing stuff I wonder if guns Midwest will take it back on those grounds.
